About the Author: Bruce Hasenyager is a recovering codependent and a long time Al-Anon member.
Son of a more-or-less functioning alcoholic father and a codependent mother, he has lived more than fifty turbulent years with alcoholics who never made it to recovery.
He was formally educated in mathematics and engineering, was a pioneer in information technology, and was a successful business executive, entrepreneur, and educator.
Friends often remark on his seemingly bottomless trove of unusual knowledge and his penchant for puns, wordplay, and the occasional original epigram.
He writes to share his experience, strength, and hope with women and men who seek relief in Al-Anon and the Twelve Steps.
With grown children in a peaceful retirement, he has a unique perspective on how to use the Twelve Steps as the way to a good life.
