The book is an in-depth, readable look at life on a destroyer, with details of daily routines and intense action, including encounters with the enemy on land, sea, and air; damage control, navigation, rescue, submarine attacks, gunnery, meals, and other aspects of the life of the officers and enlisted crew while aboard the Grayson.
This new print edition includes 16 pages of photographs and two maps from the first edition.
