Confessions From A Charmed Life is a highly-unusual autobiography that describes what has oftentimes been a difficult life and yet one that could only be considered 'charmed' life in many other respects.
This book starts off with three 'prequels' as I like to call them: one on the lives of my grandparents (all four being Sicilian immigrants) and then one each on the lives of my own parents.
These are all very fascinating in their own right, but the underlying reason for including them was because I felt it was important for the reader to understand my strong family environment and support system that produced and formed me into the person I am today, 65 years later.
After completing the prequels, I then managed to do something that in retrospect proved to be extremely difficult: I documented each year of my life: all the ups, downs, unbelievable 'charmed life experiences' (as I identify them) as well as several near-death experiences where I emerged from each without so much as a scratch.
While documenting each year of my life, I also decided to include references to the major news stories of that year to help place everything into historical perspective for the reader.
I also did extensive research on my family's archives (I had inherited these upon the death of my mother in 2012) and as a result, this story is a meaty 648 pages that comes complete with 600 photos--visual enhancements of almost every story I'm relating.
This is virtually unheard-of in autobiographical publishing today.
Most integral to this story is the important fact that in 1985, I'm the guy who became 'infamously known' as 'America's Worst Avid Golfer'.
