It provides a definition of emotional abuse, describes the behaviours involved and the effects of these behaviours upon the victim.
A biblical approach for helping these women is proposed that looks at human nature, marital roles, and what it means for her to live in Christ.
Suggestions are given as to how the church can be a support to the emotionally abused woman.
About the Author: Anne Dryburgh Ph.
, is an IABC and ACBC certified biblical counsellor who has been a mission worker in Flemish-speaking Belgium since the early 1990s.
She is a council board member of the Biblical Counseling Coalition, a guest lecturer at Tilsley College in Scotland, an external reader for doctoral candidates at the Masters International University of Divinity, and a contributor to various counselling blogs.
