About the Author Kenneth Bottoms grew up in Kilgore, Texas in a loving and supportive Christian home with his mother and step-dad.
He was baptized at age 12 in Rabbit creek, where he also went fishing from time to time as a child and stayed away from the snakes.
As a teen and young man, he earned money at various jobs, but primarily by working as a golf course caddy and later as a roughneck on oilfield rigs.
He used these earnings to pay for all of his college tuition and living expenses.
He attended Kilgore Junior College and then Texas Tech University, where he received a BS in Electrical Engineering and met his future wife, Anne.
A few months after graduation from Tech, he joined the Air Force and married Anne shortly thereafter.
He served four years during the Vietnam Wa.
