A professor emerita of Bethany College in Lindsborg, Kansas, she has been an activist, critic, educator, editor, wife, mother, and grandparent.
She is the author of numerous critical essays and four books: The Promethean Politics of Milton, Blake, and Shelley; Elizabeth Barrett Browning's Spiritual Progress; Germaine de Sta l, George Sand, and the Victorian Woman Artist; and Dickens, His Parables, and His Reader.
This is her first volume of verse.
