Rob Burnett grew up in the Falkland Islands, where, despite spending many of his early years nearly 8,000 miles from Wembley, he managed to keep up with all of England's penalty-related woe during the nineties thanks to the BBC World Service and even occasionally on television.
He moved to the UK in 1999 and is now journalist working in London.
