Crime-solving twins Peter and Paul Skillen help a woman investigate the mystery of her father's last days after a chance encounter on a busy street, even though Paul is also occupied in an effort to foil highwaymen, one of whom has a suspicious motivation.
Matters are further complicated when the father goes missing from the casket.
