He Waited is the sequel to the novel Wait on Him written by Phyllis Boisseau-Whitlow thirteen years ago.
In Wait on Him, we learned how God used Job, a faithful, loyal servant of the Lord and the most prosperous man in the East, as he was taken from rock bottom to restoration and how we can apply that lesson to our daily lives.
Job, the most afflicted man in the Bible, was tested yet remained faithful and was blessed because of his faithfulness and obedience.
In He Waited, Phyllis writes about a divine encounter she had with the Lord, and how He gave her a revelation of things to come.
It wasn't until God took her through her own Job-like experience that she would understand what that revelation was about.
He Waited delves into Phyllis's personal experiences and hardships, and how she came to know God for who He truly is.
Phyllis says, God wants us to wait on Him as we trust Him to work things out on our behalf.
While we wait on Him, He waits on us to do the work that He has set forth for us to do.
God waits for us to understand that though we deal with the vicissitudes of life, our trials only come to make us stronger.
He waits for us to understand that faith without works is dead, and when we recognize that there is purpose in our pain, we can put action behind our faith and do what He has called us to do.
Then we can share that testimony to be a beacon of light to help others and ultimately glorify God.
