Madrid really is the city that never sleeps.
Madrilenos seem to wander from work to restaurant to nightclub and back to work again without ever being seen to lay their head on a pillow.
Gourmands can immerse themselves in the incredible gastronomic scene, while those on an art pilgrimage will find it hard to tear themselves away after a fortnight.
But scratch a little deeper and you'll find Madrid has much more to offer - mingle with the scruffy-chic hipsters of Malasana or rub shoulders with the designer-clad yuppies of Salamanca.
Amble through the narrow, olde worlde streets of La Latina or camp it up, living fast and large, loose and late in the colourful, alternative and often outrageous district of Chueca.
