About the Author SHELLEY GILL is an author and adventurer who lives in Homer, Alaska.
She has raced in the Iditarod Sled Dog Race, sailed to Antarctica, and been a humpback researcher in Prince William Sound for 15 years.
She is a public speaker and visits schools all over the world.
