Lost Industries of the Tyne explores the dangerous and dirty trades that, over many centuries, made Tyneside the workshop of the world: shipbuilding, glass, pottery, salt, chemicals, iron and steel, ropes, cables, flour, grindstones and much much more.
They all depended on coal, and the river Tyne - the superhighway to everywhere else.
