Duran Buckler was 9 years old in 1958 when his mother bought him a lottery ticket which he placed in his pink piggy bank for safe keeping.

Saving his ticket in bank marked the start of a period of difficulties for him and his family.

For starters, a huge fire burns down Duran's family home, and unable to afford a new home, they moved in with grandpa.
