About the Author Dana Holyfield wrote and published the first Swamp Cooking cookbook when she returned to the Louisiana swamp after traveling far and away from the bayou.
While l traveling all over the country and even to Europe, she learned how the rest of the world was fascinated with the Louisiana Cajun culture and the mysterious swamp.
So she decided to photograph and write about this unique way of life.
She has written many other Louisiana themed books, including one about the Honey Island Swamp Monster.
She has also made documentary videos, including the Swamp Cooking documentary that was filmed during the making of this cookbook.
