The image of swinging bridges takes me back to childhood days when our family would come together from afar to meet in the hills of West Virginia.
Perched high above a rolling river, laced with jagged rocks, the swinging bridge evoked an intense excitement and brought an effervescent sparkle to the eyes of all the children.
Traversed by small feet with the thrill of a high step and a broad smile.
Courageously conquering danger like the sword of a brave knight.
A cocktail of the innocence of a mighty young warrior.
Enter the giants, the adults of the day, whose fullness when jump toss the bridge frantically too and fro.
Which for some, made what was meant to be a fun and joyful experience, scary and sad.
A memory which reminds me of the initial beautiful light that is innately and uniquely in each of us and how harmful acts and words induced fear dimming those lights.
Thank you for allowing me to share a short collection of deep poetry gifted through the process of awakening and healing.
A journey though the clutches of darkness to thread the eye of my needle of life with a resounding pure and authentic light from within.
In the process of stitching a new pattern for myself, on a promise of love, I hope to encourage and inspire others to bravely embrace such a journey through the darkness of discovery of individual truth.
