About the Author: JANE THIELEMANN-DOWNS is a Professor of Education in the College of Public Service at the University of Houston-Downtown where she teaches courses in Reading, Language Arts, and Educational Psychology.
She has been a member of the faculty at UH-D for 23 years, and currently resides in Houston, Texas.
