Jimmy Jay and his friend Buddy Butterfly, a purple-faced Monarch Butterfly, decide to make a trip to Mexico to find Buddy's mom.
Buddy hasn't seen her since he was a caterpillar, but he knows that she makes a heroic thousand-mile migration every year to the Monarch Butterfly Biosphere Reserve in the mountains of Mexico.
He's determined to find them there.
The problem is, he doesn't know the way He's lucky his best friend, Jimmy Jay, is going with him.
