It is very obvious that a lot of hard work and research went into the production of this book.
This book begins with high school track and field in Michigan in 1895 (Grover Cleveland was president) and details the Michigan state meet all the way to last year (2018).
I have followed track and field for 57 years and have never seen such a detailed and thorough book on high school track and field.
If you live in Michigan or even if you live in Alaska or Florida, you will enjoy the information, photographs, and results in the 439 pages of this wonderful book.
I expected this book to be a list of all of the great performances in Michigan track & field history.
It is SO MUCH MORE Great stories, pictures and summaries of amazing races.
My entire family had enjoyed reading through it.
I can not recommend it strongly enough With Jim Moyes being my dad, I'm probably a little biased but he knows A LOT about track and field (he calls it useless knowledge) and is a fantastic writer (majored in journalism and Latin at Central Michigan University).
I remember him, for example, going to Rome and Russia for meets and served as a starter for years at our local High School.
He was working on this for decades.
Thorough and thoroughly engaging A well-researched mix of statistical history and personal profiles of the coaches and athletes who created it.
I highly recommend it Good.
