He is a law student at the University of Exeter, and began writing at 15, when his first poem was published in his school literary magazine.

Ikenna in the Igbo language means the father's strength, and as the first child and son, he looks into the struggles of a young man growing up in two different cultures, wanting to belong somewhere: the African culture, in which men being raw about inner thoughts and showing affection is uncommon, and the Western culture, where he is introduced to racism for the first time.

The Storm challenges the reader to reflect deeply on how emotions are dealt with, and how they are felt.

Having battled with his masculinity, this young man questions his being, his purpose and his duty to people around him, as he explores his mental state at every stage, often feeling pressured to confine to a certain way of being.
