Nolde was raised in a small farming community in Sullivan County, New York, in the house built by her great grandparents on the land cleared by her great-great grandparents, immigrants from Ireland.
She records in formal and free verse her deep connection to family tradition and to the history of the region and her concern for what has been lost through change.
Her work explores how travel and the arts can unite us across the distance of time and place.
